Using Gameport -> USB convertor with MSFF

I've seen in the shops a convertor that converts from a GamePort to a
USB port.

How well would that work with the MSFF? Everyone mentions how there is
much less of a CPU drain from the USB connector, but will the USB
drivers work extra hard to compensate for this?

TIA

Almost certainly won't work. I've tried a couple and the MSFF or any FF
device just does not work. I think it's because these connectors (and switch
boxes) work on analogue controllers only.  I gave up, sold my MS and bought
the Guillemot!

MS now has a USB FF Wheel.  I have a picture and a few details on my
website.  Using an adapter on the gameport version is a no-go though.

Hey guys - mind giving me the names of those convertors or at least
where you saw them? I've been looking for one for quite some time now. I
have a TSW that i'd love to move over to USB.

Thanks

I tried one of these about a year ago with terrible results. I was
using a TSW wheel, so it was a straight analog device. However, there
were some definite issues related to calibration since the USB adapter
was designed for a particular range of values. Even when it "worked",
it had *extremely* notchy behavior. When turning the wheel back & forth
in the pits on GPL, you could see the front wheels moving in big
increments instead of smoothly -- it was undriveable. I went right back
to my game port!
