USB Wheels - MSFF?

I looking to get a new wheel to replace my knackered F1Sim and I'm looking
at the MSFF. Can you get it USB? Any other good wheels you'd recommend for
GPL around the 150-200 mark here in the UK?

The current MSFF is not in USB (I heard rumours about a new MSFF with USB
coming!).

According to the common RAS opinion I think the Logitech Wingman Formula Force
is  commonly felt as the best FF (for GPL) at the moment (except for the
pedals which can be (easily) improved though).

I myself can't compare but love my 1 week old LWFF.

BTW: The FF is really great in GPL!!

Hope this helps.

Get the Act Labs RS FF USB Wheel. It is supposed to be really cool.

Well Collin, the MSFF has one down with F1 sim: the shifters. The have none,
so you have to use the buttons. That's what is so beautiful about the LFFW.
It has great shifters on the wheel. In contrast with the Thrustmaster, which
isn't that reliable (words of the man who sells wheels himself).
FF with the latest drivers is good enough to have in  a F1 simulator. It
won't knock you out of your chair, but that's not the issue in F1 sims, is
it ?
The pedals, well, you can argue about them. I have no problem with them, but
I do have to admit the Thrustmaster' is better. But, h, we are all pros
behind that wheel, so we should adapt to them easely....
I did, ahum.

Wrong, or maybe right, depending on definition. There are no paddles on the
back of the wheel like the LFFW, but there are buttons on the back. The
problem however are that with full steering lock they are impossible to press.

And the MSFF is unfortunately not in USB.

But I recommend it, it is solid and precise. A great peace of machinery.

That's what I said:you have to use the buttons. And indeed, they are more
difficult to use than the paddles.
The USB feature is as far as I know only a sensible one when using W98.

Well, I made the decision and plumped for the MSFF. I did try out the
Logitech FF wheel but I wasn't to keen on the pedals. At least you could
tighten the pedal tension on the Logitech though.

I see what you mean about the shifters, I was used to the shifters as seen
on the F1Sim, but to be honest it's not that big a problem for me.

It feels pretty good on GPL but now the damn thing is slow as slow could be
since I patched it. I saw other posting somewhere about this, any solutions.

Any ways to increase the tension on the MSFF pedals would be appreciated to.

1. Take off your shoes for better feel.
2. Put a half squash ball under the brake pedal. Dunlop yellow dot will do
fine. Recalibrate with the ball in place, pressing hard.

A bit less technical than I was looking for Bart but hey, it does the job.

I have actually rigged up a cunning springy device which after much tweaking
no longer comes loose and embeds itself in my foot. Work damn well.

As ever, simple is best. (Except the F1Sim Jnr pedal set which it just shit)
