F1 2000 Voodoo problems

The game runs perfect with my Viper 550 card, but I can't get it
working with my Diamond Monster Voodoo II SLI cards. When I select
these, the game just starts in software mode.
I have dx7a and the latest 3dfx drivers from www.3dfx.com installed...
Anyone else got problems too?
I have the same problems by the way with another EA game, Tiger Woods
2000.

Just to be sure, I deinstalled all the driver, reinstalled them,
reinstalled directx 7a... no luck so far.

Are you thinking that it should run in Glide mode?  I think it's just DX.
At first I didn't know if I was running accelerated but after bumping the
resolution it looked better.  This game requires full screen anti aliasing
though.  Too many lines and small textures that flicker in and out of sight.

btw, I'm using a V3.  Let me know if you have anything specific you want me
to check out.

When I select my Voodoo SLI cards, the graphics look really messed up,
textures flickering etc, and the framerate is very poor.
When I select my Viper 550, the framerate is (in training mode)
excellent. I can't imagine that this game would run better with my
Viper 550 than with my Voodoo II SLI?

I had exactly the same with EA's Tiger Woods 2000. When selecting my
Diamond card, it plays in a really bad looking software mode,
allthough TW can run in 3dfx mode. With my Viper 550 is runs great.

I just can't figure out what to try anymore, I tried the official
Diamond drivers, the drivers from ww.3dfx.com and the GLsetup program
included on the Quake 3 cd. Also reinstalled DX7a, no luck :(

Well, at least I've got Snetterton now to make me happy :)

It works in D3D, but sees only one of my Creative V2's. I don't think I have
the latest 3Dfx drivers (I think they're the ones I installed to fix the DX6
thingy). DX7 installed.

I hardly have any FF on my LWFF, how's that working for you?

Oh, and BTW: don't turn on the formation laps! The AI crashes into eachother
left right and center. You're not in control of your own car and the orignal
owner will happily take your wings of and cripple your suspension!! You're
then expected to start with as is, i.e. messed up.

Otherwise not bad at all. No GPL, but very believable nonetheless.

Mine is hardly a reference system...P166, Voodoo 2, 64 Meg, F drive
install, Creative Labs Graphics Blaster Exxtreme as primary...but the V2
is working and I can drive solo with the graphics turned down somewhat.
Tried a quick race and got about 3 fps...so I'll be driving alone 'til I
upgrade.

Overall, I like it. I won't be uninstalling Ubisoft product 'cause of the
frame rate thing, but I will be driving it. It's loke SCGT but better
graphics and physics. The best modern F1 sim to date, based on an hour at
the wheel. This -may- change. It's no GPL, though.

Back to getting ready for Brazil...8^).
