N2003 & throwing yellow flags

Hi Folks, running a logitech Momo & using the Wingman Profiler. Is there a
way to map to a button on the wheel the procedure for the admin to throw a
yellow flag ? Alternately maybe a keyboard remapping program that would do
the same ?
We run a offline N2003 league & every now & then one of my teamies gets
tangled with car/wall & starts crying for a yellow. I have to slow down and
hunt & peck at the keyboard to throw the yellow, which usually results in me
tangling with a car/wall or losing many places.

Thanks

You might do a search for a little proggy called joytokey.  Another option
might be voice control with Shoot 1.6.4 though Id be wary of mapping a
yellow to it :)

If it's a chat command that throws the yellow you can map a button to a
series of keystrokes right in profiler software ...  that's what it's
for...

I'm not sure how an offline league or play works, but if it is online,
the answer would be yes. You can map a single button on your momo. First
create an autochat line with the line !yellow. The !yellow autochat line
will be associated with a key. Then go to your wingman profiler and map
a button to the key that says !yellow. At first blush it seems a little
difficult but with a little "thinking" you'll see it work.

Have you mapped to keys with the profiler before?

Man, thanks. I see where you are going. You are using the in-game autochat
message in the options menu's correct ? Then just typing in the "!yellow" to
a particular autochat & mapping that autochat line to the profiler. Then
adding the "$" would execute it automatically, correct ?
Right now I have managed to create a 2-step process. Hitting "t" on the
keyboard to open the chat box & then having "!yellow" mapped to a button on
the wheel. A little cumbersome but works with some pitfalls.

Off to try, Thanks

Yes :) I forgot about the $ thing but that's the solution.

Question, Mr KingsHead....

When you typed TEAMATES, please tell us you meant any "participants" in
general?  as in not just because your "buddy" wrecks right?  Secondly just
an observation, 99% of the online races try like hell to eliminate cautions,
you on the otherhand want more?  what server is this?

4 of us race the AI in a OFF-line league (LAN) on the weekends. Sometimes
one of us gets punted by the AI (who are not really aware of the Humans on
the track) so I throw a "courtesy" caution to let them get caught back up,
get a lap back, etc. Used to have to hunt & peck on the keyboard to throw
it, now it is just a press of the button :-) and no damage to me.
Not looking for more cautions, just keeping the teamies in the race if
needed.
We run N2003, rFactor & DTRSC.

Thanks Niles, works a treat :-)) Although after racing last-night decided
the "$" is not good. Touch the button & get a yellow automatically lol.

Hey kingshead, I'm in a Sunday evening North American league that runs
the   CUP schedule and would like to invite you and your friends to come
and run with us. I'll make sure you are set up with setups if you need
them and it's only a semi serious league that has a mix of experienced
and newer guys. We'd like to have a few more guys in the league and you
guys would be welcome to come and see if it's good for you.

Check it out at http://PSRL.NET

N2003 & throwing yellow flags

by KingsHea » Wed, 22 Mar 2006 10:50:02

Thanks for the offer Niles, Sunday nights are usually when we run but my
internet connection will not handle all four of us on-line at the same time.
We are on a LAN in the same room.
Plus I have grown weary with the N2003 Cup Cars & the other guys don't like
them. I started league racing in 2003 with NASSCAR.ORG which was great for 2
years, then last year it merged with CRO and went downhill IMO. Got tired of
being punted from behind, or wrecked by a lapper or a driver racing lap 12
of a 200 lap race like it was the last lol.
We use the GN, CTS & TPTCC mods in N2003. Feel more like cars to me.

I would like to find a rFactor league though. The Lienz Mod & the AWD cars
are fantastic. I also love the open wheel trainers in rFactor, but they
don't seem to get much attention.

Thanks again
