What I think would be even better than a locked option which throws
cautions every so many laps, would be to have a user-definable option
to throw cautions at certain points. Even NASCAR does this in real
life sometimes when there are concerns about tire wear. That way you
could run, say, a 100% race at Bristol and set scheduled cautions to
25% so there everyone would know in advance that there would be
scheduled cautions at laps 125, 250, and 375. I don't see why there
couldn't be a checkbox for scheduled cautions (even in single player
races) and then a user-definable schedule done in percentage format
(so if this were implemented in single player it would be consistent
through a champ season). If you could toggle something like this on
while still having incident-caused cautions off it would be pretty
nice for long races at the roadies.
