ICR2 Car breakdowns - how random is random?

by Yusseri Yusof » Wed, 10 Apr 1996 04:00:00

Hi,

I was just wondering about the car breakdowns feature during a race. So
far I've had gearbox, oil pump, water pump, halfshaft and something else
I can't remember. I'd just like to know whether it's modeled purely
statistically or whether driving style has anything to do with it at all
- or even taking into account the fact that you're 25 secs ahead of the
second placed driver on lap 238 of a 250 lap race which you have slogged
through for some 2 hours or so only pausing every once in a while to
relieve your bladder could actually influence the decision making
process of the simulator?

Just wondering, is all... :-)

ps. When it happened I was really pissed off. It really sucked, but
however, it sucked good if you catch my meaning.

It's purely statistical.
