Running ICR DOS v. 1.02 & Nascar v. 1.21 under DOS

Hi,
I just recently upgraded my Pentium 100 to 32 megs of ram. Since I had
all this ram I thought I'd try to run Indycar 2 and Nascar in a DOS
session in Win95. I set up shortcuts that prevent the games from
detecting Windows. This works but I get no sound unless I add the -f
switch. With that I only get engine sounds in both games. No anouncer,
no sound effects. Anyone have any ideas?
BTW, Indycar 1 will not run at all.

I forgot to add that everything works fine when I run the games in DOS
6.22. Also with other games (Quake, Descent 2) the sound is fine running
in a DOS session in Windows 95

I had the same problem. If I remember right I just SET the BLASTER, SOUND
and MIDI in autoexec.bat. Just as you probably already have in your
autoecex.dos.

But ICR2 ver 1.00 didn't work for me under Win95. With 1.02 it is no problem.

Still I think it is much better to run it in pure DOS.

I agree. In addition I feel that DOS 6.22 (pure DOS or old DOS) is a
better environment for these games than the ms-dos mode of Win95. I'll
be keeping a multi-boot configuration for a long time.
