3D Accelerator Cards

by a_men.. » Wed, 19 Nov 1997 04:00:00

Well, I have tried searching for webn sites and on magazine sites for
this info, and I can't find it, so maybe you guys can help me.  Could
somebody please please please emaiol either a site address, OR the info
I need.  I am doing a presentatino for a univ. course on 3d accel.s
cards, and since I haven't bought a new computer for 7 years, I really
don't know how they interact with the CPU, etc. or what not.  I know the
basic idea that the card frees the CPU from calculating the graphics,
but can a cardless CPU still do the effects such as transperecy or
anti-aliasing??

If someone could send me or locate me some sort of guide as to how
specificallly the card works with the 2d card, the cpu, etc, I would be
forever grateful.  Thx.
