Indycar II help with 3D Accelerator PLEASE!

by Praxi » Mon, 28 Oct 1996 03:00:00

I have version 1.02 of Indycar Racing II.  I also recently purchased a
Creative Labs PCI 3D Blaster (Rendition Verite) and I want to be able to
take advantage of this card.  Can somebody PLEASE let me know if a patch
will be available, of if it will require upgrading to a completely new
version, or is there just no way to get it unless it is bundled with the 3D
Accelerator you buy.

I bought Indycar II because a brochure that came with the card said it
supported the PCI 3D Blaster, and there was no indication that there was a
"special version" or anything.

PLEASE E-Mail me if you have any information,

I believe that Sierra will make the Rendition-Ready version available.
Check with them.  Also, Nascar2 will be Rendition-Ready from the start.

Isn't it amazing how incredibly ignorant most computer store salesman
in Australia are. Ask them a simple question about release date's of
certain 3D video cards and they don't even know what they are.
"Never heard of it mate" is the usual response. Same goes for software
titles. Just getting themselves on newsgroups like this one will teach
them a great deal. I get the impression that all there knowledge of
new products comes from brochures from the suppliers. If they don't
get the brochures they remain ignorant.

Thanks very much for the information.  I've written to Sierra but haven't
received a reply yet.  I've also contacted some of the local software
vendors but they all think I'm crazy!  Would you believe I had to explain
to most of them what a 3D Accelerator was?  I even had to spell out letter
by letter the name "rendition" because they had no idea what I was saying.
Well I guess that's what you get for living in Australia.

Catchya...
