ForceFeedback settings for GPL / N4 etc...?

by James Pickar » Fri, 20 Jul 2001 09:18:33

Hi guys...

I have just borrowed a friends MS Force Feedback wheel, and was wondering if
anyone could send me any special settings to use with it for GPL and N4..?
Core.ini settings..  or anything...

I'm not really looking for ultra fast settings as such.  I'm really looking
for realistic type settings, but any settings will be really good.

Thanks in advance....

ForceFeedback settings for GPL / N4 etc...?

I use these in core.ini, which is almost default I believe:
[ Joy ]
allow_force_feedback = 1
force_feedback_latency = 0.035
force_feedback_damping = 30.0
max_steering_torque = 450.0

In the properties - settings of the wheel I have Force feedback level high
and Return to center medium.
My wheel is the game port version.

Hi!

; From www.slottweak.com
force_feedback_damping = 5000  ; this is force feedback strength, not
damping
force_feedback_latency = .0045 ; force feedback latency (secs), use a low
number
max_steering_torque = 2800     ; this is damping (2500 for the Force RS)

I use these for GPL and I think it's very realistic. Very controversial
though because they are based on the theory that Sierra got the values mixed
up! Anyway, I like these settings a lot.
