My two cents..all the e***ment over this game just shows how sim racers
just long for a modern F1 sim that is "realistic". This game certainly can
be fun (a patch will help things also) however it cannot or will not match
what GPL has done over the last three years. Hopefully I won't upset too
many people out there but maybe another company (Papy?) is watching the
e***ment and will give us something we can really get into.

Wait 'til Rally Trophy hits the shelves next month.  GPL'rs will really get
into this.  It's got graphics, physics, a 6DOF***pit view and it's
historic.  A very likely successor IMHO.

Unfortunately we are a minority.  No games company seems to be bothered.
After all, GPL did not sell well at all.  We'll just have to be content with
Geoff Crammond's efforts for the forseeable future.

It sold well to it's market.

There's no reason for such software to be sold to another market.  Stop that
myth that GPL did not sell well, every one of us.  Stop it.  Now.

I'll give you that....it's just that GPL's market was very small....

Your right, it is no GPL. That's because it's F1 racing in the year
2001 - not 1967.

No GPL in quality not theme.

It's not far off the GPL quality. Few tweaks here and there and it
will be. I just ran GPL all day and then played F12001. Both are good,
IMO. Sometimes I really wonder just how realistic GPL is anyway. Just
because something is harder doesn't make it better or more realistic.
