Gpl and RS Force...

by LL » Wed, 19 Jan 2000 04:00:00

Hello,

Got myself a RS Force today.

I must say a big "CONGRATULATIONS" to the guys at act-labs...

Great wheel, great packing, great shifter...

However I couldn't make it run with GPL (the shifter not the wheel), I mean it works in 'Up and down' but not in 'full mode' with gears 1 to 5.

Is there a thing to do in some .ini file to have this gear selection work properly ?

Thx

Hello,

Unfortunately, Papy has not implemented full shifter support yet.
Have you tried Rally 2K with the Shifter?  Doesn't it rock?  Even in Hi-Lo mode, I find it way more fun than using the paddle shifters.
I have heard that most of the new games coming out will have full shifter support though

Problem with R2k and the RS shifter is that modern rally cars use sequential
shifters, so it defeats the object ;)
It would be nice with GPL though !!!

Hello Ian,

Actually...not ALL modern rally cars use sequential shifters.  There
are many that don't.  Even so, it is lots of fun to play with the
shifter in free shifting mode.
The ACT LABS RS Shifter also comes with plate patterns that allow the
user to switch the configuration of the shifting pattern.  The RS
Shifter can be used as a sequential shifter.
