GPL : Prob with direct input and ActLabs Force RS Wheel

by Thierry Cailletea » Sat, 02 Jan 1999 04:00:00

Hello.

Just purchased this wheel 2 days ago and I cant calibrate it in GPL using
direct input. The wheel works fine with other games like F1RS.

I'd like to know if the prob comes from my config or from GPL. Could another
Force RS owner tell me how it works on his own CPU with GPL.

I had no prob with my former Thrustmaster GP1 Wheel, using direct input in
GPL.

Thanks a lot for your help.

If you have the Force RS configured in your win95 joystick panel,
it should work in GPL.  In the GPL controls menu, pick "direct
input" and calibrate.  It should let you calibrate both axes
again, and assign them.  I never had any trouble calibrating
or assigning in GPL, but the auto-centering never worked.
Do the latest drivers make the wheel auto-center in GPL?

I just received the following answer from ActLabs techsupport :

"Hello,

At this time, the virtual spring feature becomes disabled by most non-FF
games as they take over the controller driver from windows. We and
Immersion are working on a fix (updated driver). I cannot really speculate
as to when this will be available.

Regards,
Zenon"
