All I can say is I'm glad that ones over.  I ran good in practice and had a
fair qualifying spot, but got into trouble on the first caution. The car
never was the same after the body damage. :-(

In spite of the many cautions I enjoyed this one for two reasons:

a) I wasn't involved or caused any of them (maybe the last one when I
hit the wall glue when Neil passed me in turn 3, and the following car
couldn't avoid me it seems)

b) I did not come dead-last and ran all the way to the flag on the
same lap as the leader (not too hard really if you keep it on the
black stuff and don't suffer noticeable damage)

For these two reaons, this was actually an enoyable "oval" experience!

All the best,

Uwe

As bad as it's turned out for me I a blast.  Lots of very close racing
indeed.  I knew it was going to be a tough race so I took a provisional. By
the halfway point I somehow managed to squeeze into 3rd.  Oster was right on
my tail though and faster so I began to push it a little harder than I
should. You know how this usually turns out and as I exited the tunnel turn
I goosed the throttle a little harder than I should have and looped it.  I
took pretty bad damage but fortunately I didnt take anyone else out and was
way off the pace from that point on I was on the verge of spinning every
corner.  After a few really close calls I did finally lose it again and had
to take a seat in the grandstands (2 spin rule).  Sorry for causing my share
of the yellows and see yall next week at the brickyard.

Mitch

Cheers Mitch.  It's been about 3 months, but just got NR2003 back up and
running 2 days back, since getting DSL.  Have been online the past
couple of nights and everything seems quite stable, so was considering
joining you guys very soon.  :)
