N4+DX8a+TSW?

I was screwing around with different drivers for my Ge-Force Ultra trying to
find the best version to work with N4.All of a sudden I starting geting errors
and when I could make it to the track I was only getting 5 or so FPS.I then
tried GPL and had  the same problem, I then tried Crimson Skies and that worked
fine, plus a few other games.
After cleaning my HD and reinstalling drivers, DX8a and N4 with no luck I
gave up.The next day I sat down to play, I plugged in my TSW and stated N4 up
"voila" everything was working fine, so I tried to find the best driver once
more, once again I  started to have problems again, then I relized, when I was
fooling around with the drivers I disconnected my TSW, not from the gameport (
PDLI L4 ) but the connection from the peda to the steering wheell, it still
says it's connected in game controllers.
Sure enough, this was the problem, for some reason if my TSW isn't connected
to the pedals N4 and GPL  won't run right.
Has anyone had this problem? and know what may cause it? ( DX8a suspect! )

  System
  Kt7-r

  Ge-force ultra
  256 VCM
  SB live
  Pioneer 16X DVD

And for what it's worth, I like N4 better then Heat,IMO, I think the physics
are more realistic. I've been driving GPL since day one and found it much
easier to adapt to N4 then heat.

   Happy racing everyone

N4+DX8a+TSW?

I have a TSW, P3 866 and Direct x 8.0a. I recently had a problem with
N4; the game didn't recognize the wheel. I had to calibrate it using the
Direct X drivers; optimized drivers didn't show the wheel as being
connected. I went in the joystick control panel, removed the TSW and
then added it again. I finally got it working again in N4 with
"optimized" drivers. I didn't have any problems with the framerates.

My only other problem since I have installed Dx 8.0a has been with
Diablo 2; the games freezes completly.
