The only time I can hear the announcer is during the intro sequence.
Although the announcer-volume in the options menu is set to 100% i do
not hear anything.

When am i supposed to hear an announcer. After races?

Btw: i have NASCAR version 1.2

Hi Erwin... I believe the Announcer only talks at the beginning of the
game (i.e. "I'm Ned Jerret..."). If not, I have the same problem as you
do. :)

I believe that in a post a few months ago someone stated that the
announcer is something still under construction. Papyrus wants to put it
in, but is still working with Ned Jarrett to make it happen.

Hope they get it soon. That would be interesting.

I'd like to see in Nascar II (yeah right) your pit crew and spotter
talking to you over the radio. Things like, you're 10 down, or watch for
car #23 or There's a wreck coming up in turn 2.

I realize it is slow enough as it is now, but that'd be a nice feature.

As it stands now, never. Papyrus tech support told me they have hours of
Jarrett recordings on file but couldn't (or wouldn't?) find a good way to
incorporate them into the game, whatever that means.

I'm sorry to dissapoint you, but yes : only in intro sequence.
I also complained to Papyrus that i'd expect something like
"Gentlemen, start your engines" etc., but no way.

PS: Eindelijk een hollander die ook Nascar Racing speelt.
