When I ran NASCAR Racing on my 486sx with 4 Megs of RAM I thought that the
announcer's voice was left off to preserve memory.  Now I have a Pentium
with 16 Megs I still have no announcer voice.  If there isn't going to be
any more announcing than what is given in the intro screens, "Hi this is
Ned Jaret of NASCAR Racing..." then why do we have an option to adjust the
volume level of the voice?

Thats a good question. The option is also in ICR2 and I dont hear any
announcers voice in that either.
Maybe it's just a tease.

The announcer feature was left out of the game. I think it was
a decision made late in production.  I had the same question too.

I don't know what the problem with the announcer is, but maybe if we ask Papyrus, we can get in NASCAR 2.0? One thing along with the announcer that I would like to add to the game is big crashes!! That Ricky Craven incident last week made me realize that the game would be twice as exciting if this were part of it. Anybody out there with me??

I totally agree that accidents need to be improved in the second version of
NASCAR Racing, especially because cars CANNOT get airborne in the current
simulation.  Although roof flaps are there to keep most cars grounded, Bill
Elliott and Ricky Craven can both tell you that they can't do everything.
Obviously, I don't want to see possibly deadly crashes promoted by Papyrus,
but some more spectacular accidents would be nice and more realistic.

I would also like to see crashes caused by two or more AI cars getting
together with each other and not just one lone car spinning out and
others getting colldected.  I think this would improve Nascar2.

Yes, I'd like to see it too. I've been playing NR for almost a year and saw
only one accident where two AI cars hit each other going into a turn.

I already think there is some pretty darn bad crashes ......
the only thing missing is flipping the 3500 pound beast down the back
stretch at Talladega......but most people complain right now about
frame rate         ........but it would be interesting rolling once or
        twice .....   :)

I don't know about that.  I saw a crash with about 6 AI at C***te.  Lots
of mangled cars (I added mine to the list when I came out of T4 and into the
dogleg and notices that there was a line of mangled cars across the track.
