can't get n2 to run!

I have a AMD133, 32m ram and stealth3d vid. card. I installed the win95 and
dos ver. also with a boot disk and still can't get it to run. Anyone have
any idea how I can get n2 to run? Is it the AMD chip that won't let it run?
Please help me.

I have an AMD100 with the same problem.  I contacted Sierra and they
couldn't help me, they suggested a few things but none helped.  I figure
its my motherboard (conflict somewhere)...  My wife got me a Reactor 3D
card for Xmas and I'm ordering a new motherboard with an Intel P166 chip.
Have to bit the bullet to play with the big boys,,,
Good Luck, couldn't resolve my problem

In my humble opinion nascar2 has been ported to the pentium processor.
Note the Intel link on the Papyrus home page.
Just as the game was exclusively optimized for the rendition chipset.
Money is money.  Business is business.
You bought it.  It's yours.
Now you will spend $900 to play one stupid game.
Nascar1 runs great on AMD and Cyrix.

Well a lot of people are gonna hate me for this
but...................AMD and Cyrix are the one's saying that what
they sell is "compatible" and as fast or faster then the Pentiums. SO
why don't all the people that bought them *** at THEM?  And not the
people who made the software?  COME ON put the blame in the right
place!!!  After all I've seen I'd say the so called compatibility is a
JOKE. The way you people whine about this is a joke, I'm surprised
that someone ain't ***in that they can't get NC2 to run on their
Atari ST or TI99.
You get what you pay for......AND you DID NOT pay for a Pentium, but
yet you cry.  You brag how cheap it was to buy them and how fast the
chips run a benchmark and then throw a fit when they won't run a real
world program.

Just my opinion but you should tell AMD & Cryrix that the products
they are selling are IN FACT NOT compatible as they claim, Not the
people who wrote the software!

Sure you save a buck.......But at least I know my Pentium will run as
a Pentium, so if it runs the program right it was money well spent.
But PLEASE all you people keep buying all those other chips because
the only good they do is help drop the price on the real things!

OK that said I'm ready to get blasted now. But remember blame those
who made the chips, not me & not Papy or Sierra or whoever made the
program that wants a real Pentium.

I'm not gonna blast you for your comments, everyone is entitled to an
opinion. BUT, as a rebuttal I offer this. I have a Cyrix P166+ with all the
bells and whistles to go along with it and my performance in the "real"
world is amazing! Frame rates on ALL of my games as well as benchmarks in
and out of Win95 are far superior to my overclocked Pentium 150! Even
"Pentium" games like Mech 2 for Win95 are better on the Cyrix. I wonder
what it will be like when I finally breakdown and overclock the Cyrix to
75x2! My ONLY (and I do mean ONLY -as in everything else works like it
should) problem is with the joystick in RENDDMA for Nascar2, and since it
was mentioned in the readme file, it would appear that Sierra/Papy is at
least somewhat concerned about non-Intel users.... and to be honest we're
talking about getting 4 companies' products to work together (Cyrix,
Intergraph, Sierra, and Rendition.)

Yes, it is Cyrix's responsibility to be "truly" Pentium compatible if they
are going to claim to be, but if 99% of the programs run without problems
(a number which isn't much different than Intel's number) then I think
they've done their job. And as far as Sierra is concerned, the Nascar 2 box
says 486 and Pentium on it, but nowhere does it say "Intel" or "Intel Only"
so I feel like they are obviously marketing to everyone. I also might be
more forgiving if NASCAR 2 wasn't riddled with other bugs. I'm not saying
it isn't my favorite game in the world though<G>, just not up to Papyrus'
standard. My "true" Papyrus programs all run great with my Cyrix and I
can't help but feel that Sierra's involvement has hurt Papyrus' work ethic.
We'll get a good judge on that by how quick and how thorough a patch is. I
just hope the joystick issue is one of many covered! BTW, for you Papyrus
folks out there, you are still the greatest driving simulator makers going,
I just haven't had much luck with your parent company......

Anyway, just another opinion. I do think however, that a lot of people have
problems with Cyrix and AMD (but Cyrix in particular) because of the way
they are marketed. They are presented as a drop in replacement for the
Intel and they aren't (at least in Cyrix's case). You've got to have the
right hardware to make it work well (which requires a little reading and a
little knowledge), but when you do that you get an excellent set-up for a
great price.
