N2 - Help! Won't run after install

by hermi » Sat, 18 Apr 1998 04:00:00

I have a Pentium II 300 with SB64 and Diamond Viper.  Was running N1 just
great.  Just bought N2 (for $15), installed it and started it up.  The
opening video ran flawless and then when completed, the screen was blank
(black) and I had no mouse or keyboard control.  Had to power off to
recover.  I tried installing and running from Win95 and then reinstalled
and ran from DOS mode.  Same result each time.

Any ideas?

Definitely a soundcard problem. Try running the NASCAR Racing 2 sound setup
utility, and autodetect.

Good Luck!

I had similar problema nd autodetect wouldnot work, for some odd reason.  It
seems like my GP2 edit screwed up N2, becuase N2 ran before I had the edit
program but I installed N2 after deleteing it due to boredom and it would not
run.

Did you run the univbe driver configuration?  If so, try deleting the
univbe.drv and univbe.cfg files from your NASCAR2 directory.

Did your soundcard detect and test okay in the setup screen?  If not try
copying your sound.cfg file from your NASCAR1 directory to your NASCAR2
directory.

For the hell of it, try running the game with the nascar2.exe command
instead of the N2.bat file
