Can anyone tell me why I can't get N2 to run from Win95, it runs fine in
DOS...

Why don't you give us some more info...

What kind of computer...video card...Are all of the patches used?

Lastly, what exactly is happening when you try to run it?

I have found that when this is the case, your DOS environment under
Win95 is not set up the same as a straight DOS only boot. Try running
dosstart.bat in your Windows directory from a DOS prompt (while in
Win95); this will load any missing drivers that Win95 doesn't require,
but DOS programs will (the sound drivers/initialization is the most
likely suspect here in my experience). A freinds computer did exactly
this, and the above remedy corrected it for N2.

Hope that helps...I play N2 thru Win95 on the Internet via KALI and have
not experienced any real problems (N2 crashes sometimes, but I have
found that multiplayer modem N2 under DOS occasionally does this as
well, so it doesn't appear to be a Win95 problem here).

I had the same problem with Win 95. I went to the Sierra Home Page,
downloaded and installed the patches for N2, and it has been running
fine in Win 95 ever since
