I know that they have to rely on the Japanese director for camera
changes, replays, etc.,   which was just dismal.  Did Rubens overtake
Montoya on lap 2(?), only to lose the place almost immediately?
Dunno.  Did Ralph cross the white line out of the pits?  Dunno.

As for James Allen taking over from Murray; all I can say is, F1 will
never be the same again.  And that is BAD. :-(

The world feed is a joke. They managed to miss one of the most exiting
on track moments of the season. Rubens overtook Juan into the last
chicane, then Juan got a better exit and overtook Rubens into turn
one.  Specially RB's overtaking was spectacluar, with two
wheels on the grass. Great to watch from his onboard camera on
Bernievision :P

Who announces the races in your country is not the responsibilty of
the F1 organisation.

James Allen is a twit of the highest order.  Also from some of the things
the new pit-reporter guy (Ted?) keeps saying, I'd be surprised if he's ever
watched an F1 race before this year.  Lousie Goodman is still as bad as
ever.

At least we have the advertising breaks to spare us their ludicrous comments
(and so we can miss 10% of the race).

(Martin Brundle is a awesome btw)

And hell - after the first 40 minutes with about 1 advert break - they
seemed to be evey 7 minutes for the next 40 minutes - it was shocking

Who needs (or wants) James Allen when we've got Martin Brundle, whose witty
sense of humour and great ability to give professional opinion without being
condescending is just fine as the natural successor to MW.

Why he does not have the top commentating spot beats me!

I've got it!

Why not use the two MBs

Mark Blundel and Martin Brundle

Mark could do the commentary on ex-cart racers (Montoya, Villeneuve)
Martin could do the rest!

In the earlier days of my interest in F1 when these two were racing their
names sometimes got me confused with who was who. LOL

It was so good, you had to post it twice !
It was fantastic entertainment. No question. Phillip Island must be the most
exciting race track in the world, for bikes at least, bar none.
Congrats to the 22 year old legend, Valentino Rossi. That's how to win a
world championship !

I had the race on both Speedvision and the ITV feed.

Sorry to say, after going back and forth to avoid the commercial
breaks, I found myself sitting on the ITV feed. The Speedvision guys --
much as I normally like them -- sounded as if they were sitting
stateside in a studio watching the same picture I was. Their comments
weren't particularly inciteful or interesting. I much preferred Martin
Brundle's comments, and they seemed to have a bit of a clue as to what
was going on off-camera.

It was nice to have the option though, and nice to be able to avoid
(most of) the commercials.

I was going to watch it, but accidentaly catched the sports news on
BBC world before the tapedelayed airing. Since the airing was somewhat
late and I had to go to work I couldn't be bothered to stay up to
watch that twit get another win (Forza Biaggi!).

Probably should have watched it anyway, at least Biaggi stayed upright
for a change.

The ITV commentators only have the same TV pictures as the rest of us, and
what they can see out of the window if possible.
Literally a single 14" portable TV at some times, that they stand and squint
at.

I thought they had at least one official timing/info display...
