I have played a few races on it, and I have to say I quite like it. It
leaves me wishing for a Papy/EA hybrid with NR2003's graphics and
sound engine, and NT2003's AI, force feedback and sound samples.

All links are dead.  Except BitTorrent, of course, which I won't install.
My browser and 3mbit connection can handle a download just fine, thank you
:)

Thanks, worth a try.  How is the controller setup?

Nothing contentious, it works fine with my Momo racing wheel. FF is
better than NR2003 IMO.

If there's anything on your PC that's so sensitive that you can't afford to
compromise it then you're an idiot to connect it to the internet in the
first place.

Gee, how about trying the obvious and going to ftp.ea.com?  It seems
everyone has forgotten the ol' tried and true file transfer protocol.  I
opened a console window and had it downloaded in no time. Fast and easy and
no security problems.

I realise that I'm taking a slight risk when downloading any software or
opening ports on my firewall.  I also realise that I'm taking a risk by
using Windows and connecting to the internet.  However, it's a calculated
risk and I don't let paranoia cause me to cringe in fear.  It's ok to warn
people of the risks but your posts seem to verge on spreading unnecessary
fear.

Bizarre.  It's also now gone from ftp.sunet.se, where I had also seen it.

Unfortunately (from what I have seen in the demo) it looks like it
needs FSAA even after you have turned it on! There is something odd
with that game.

Hmmm.... I guess 100 million corporate PC users are just plain wrong, and
their admins are idiots then.

I dunno... Maybe because

ftp://ftp.ea.com/pub/easports/demos/thunder2004/

is empty ?
