Re-installation of GPL is not an option here due to extreme social
withdrawal syndrome.

N2/TPTCC was crude but fun. Dodgy, twitchy cars. N3/TPTCC seems a
little unsupported. And, the cars have a sort of "on rails" feeling.
Graphics are still not up to the standards of the last rally sim I
bought. It may be a good after work un-winder but one day is a little
soon to tell.

I have a copy of SCGT and a question. Is it really worth the effort of
all the multiple downloads and patches to set this up to run what look
like very tasty cars? I'd like a fairly good car model and looking at
some of the names associated with the SCGT add ons I know that there
must be something good about it.

I'm former real world SCCA, Trans-Am and FIA Appendix J kind of guy
who knows that his chances of driving a sim Lotus XI (beautiful car,
Irish pony cart suspension) with authentic Coventry Climax sounds are
less than slim and below none. Should I just bag the whole thing and
join the faithful at the Little Chapel of the Brothers waiting in
front of the altar for the vapor to turn to  flesh?

I do agree that the "newsworthiness" of the TPTCC patch has worn off a
little, looking at it isolated, I mean, when Jan first uploaded the
first TPTCC patch for us to have a look, it was like WOW!!!, and I guess
time has run away from it a little Gfx wise, although I still think it
looks kinda neat in 1024x768, and the TransAm theme is also one I like a
lot

And then there's this little thing called ONLINE RACING, nuff said :-)

Last season I got to race my simulated Holden Commodore against some of
the nicest sim racers there is, I would have been back for this season
if I could, not to mention that we also have access to some very nice
tracks thx to the GPL community and David Noonan's converter

Beers and cheers

I have SCGT cars imported in NASCAR Heat because the physics are MUCH better
than SCGT. The parameters I came up with are pretty good for the GT cars,
but GTS and LMP still needs to be worked on. It's an old version, but you
can get it at

My big update should be done soon with AI, paintable cars, all the cars on
the entry list, etc.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,

Thanks for the pointer. This option certainly looks like it has some
potential.
