CART Precision Racing - problem with 0 gear

If you have all driving aids OFF, stop, select 1st gear
and floor it - you should be smoking your tires like crazy.

No wheelspin? Check your setup ...

CART Precision Racing - problem with 0 gear

If you are in neutral you don't need clutch... If you are in first gear and at
0mphgame developers have two potions:
1.Stall the engine - it would be a cool option. You'd have to add little
throttle in
neutral and then shift in 1st
    2. Have an automatic clutch - like in GP2 which works just fine.

They chose 3rd option - 0rpm (Cars in NFS II also stop at 0 rpm:).

CART Precision Racing - problem with 0 gear

hi sasa,

yeah i was just playing it again for a few races just before,
and noticed the same thing, when in neutral the car kinda jumps
around on its suspension as if i've got my brakes *** while
revving in gear. also, i get lots of weird little wheel spin
noises when revving in neutral which just makes me think more that
it simulates "neutral" by having the car in 1st gear with the
brakes on.

well, maybe this is more proof that neutral is 1st gear with brakes.

most of us don't have clutch pedals, so i guess they've done this
to save us the hassle of staslling all thetime. since in a race
we don't normally idle at all, this shouldn't be an issue:)

yeah i notice this too, no real wheelspin in 1st.

i have a theory, if a sim is perfect, all anyone would be able
to say is "wow! this feels perfect!" but when there are little
things slightly wrong, then this is what we notice the most,
and thus all we *seem* to be doing here in the newsgroup is
trashing the game. I would like to point out that apart from
all these minor details, the whole game in general is very good,
it would just be a shame to see such potential get lost due
to very minor issues. even the tiniest change to how the car
handles can make such a big difference in feeling. i hope
they can fix it up in a manner to suit us all:)
