Creative Voodoo2 Cart Precision Racing Problem!!!

I keep getting an error message anytime I turn my graphics option to
FULL SCREEN AUTO mode.  It comes up with an error message "can't switch
to full screen mode".

Has anyone had this problem with the Voodoo2 and is there a fix?
