Yes, unfortunately i can't even get GPL to at all.

Everyone i've spoken to says it's the Voodoo2 so I dunno.

P2-300 system with 128 megs of ram
Creative Voodoo2 3dfx card
Awe64 Sound Card
etc etc..
all running under Windows98

If it's the demo you're having problems with, the problem is Windows 98.

If you have the retail GPL, your configuration should be great for GPL. But
you should get the newest drivers for the voodoo2 card.

I also had problems until I downloaded updated drivers and went into the
voodoo2 properties and deselected all options, no checks in any boxes.
Works fine (FPS is still not good with all car field but no graphics
problems)

Hope this helped,
Chris

Can you tell us what "exactly" is the problem ? I mean it would really help
!

(It's probably not the "card" but it could be the drivers, still). I would
say try to update them to 2.53 and if it still doesn't work come back here
and tell us in details the problem ;-)

Well, here's one problem:
I found the drivers, downloaded and unzipped. But for some reason the
driver installation does'nt work. Win95. GPL recognizes no 3Dfx. I
followed the instructions that came with the drivers. After I did
that, the Monster2 apparently has no drivers. Yet they are all sitting
there in C:Windows/Temp. The installation routine also wants me to put
in a disc for DirectX, altho I've had it all along. The original
problem was black patches, but now it's worse, no 3Dfx!

Run the saved EXE to extract the drivers to a folder on your system.
Then go into device manager, find the Voodoo2 under Sound, Multimedia,
and Game Controllers, double click the Voodoo2, click the driver tab,
press update driver, follow the instructions, chosing the 'have disk'
option and then pointing the installation to the location of the
extracted drivers.  If you are prompted to insert a DirectX disk, just
point it to c:\windows\system.

Same thing happened to me with the latest drivers from Diamond Monster -- is
that what you tried to install?

If so, try the reference drivers 1.03.01 from the Voodoo2 site -- worked for
me.

Better yet just DL the latest Win95/98 release candidate and run it:

Eric,
I followed your first instructions and IT WORKED! Halleluyah! All
working normally! The "pointing to location" was the key. Now I don't
dare tinker with it.THANX,to the third power! BTW, what's a release
candidate? Anything to do with Clinton? :-)

Release candidates come after beta and are potentially the final version
barring any additional bugs.  The new Voodoo2 control panel in the
Display Properties is a nice improvement, so I'd recommend downloading
it.
