That's just stupid.

What do you know about anything you wally.

Why didn't you go and do something more constructive then.

PS:  only kidding.  :)

No, they don't.

However, he who can't spell shows signs of being an idiot.

spelling.

Wow.  Whatever happened to, "Way to go Eldred."

Certainly glad to see that Mr. Pickett followed his own advice however.

That calls for another, "Way to go Eldred."

"realise" in my signature file <vbg>.  I even had one two days ago on N3.d!

The one that gets to me is the American saying of "I could care less",
when in fact they mean the exact opposite... it doesn't make *sense*!!

:-)))

Actually, the American language is full of slang and idiomatic
expressions that mean the exact opposite of what they should. For
instance "bad" means "good", likewise "the sh*t". My favorite: "f*ck
you" is actually considered an attack??

we Yanks are sloppy folks, I think that expression was probably,
"I COULDN'T care less" which is short hand for I could NOT care less.
so being the language shredders that we are...it has morphed into, I
could care less.  Or sarcastically, I care.

I think you're right, Dave.  You see essentially the same thing in people
using "of" when it would be correct to use "have."  In our sloppy,
compressed speaking, many of us say "could've," which to some people sounds
like (and subsequently gets written as) "could of."  Same phenomenon.

Ah, our wonderful, colorful and aften brutalized language!

Kurt
