Nascar Revolution - Mini-Review - Buyer beware!!!

I had no problem turning off the sound.  Click on the little speaker
to the left of the slider and an X will be shown over it ... voila -
no music.  Similar tactics silenced the annoying announcers.

I hate to say it, but judging from the best seller lists on consoles,
EA has got to be pretty happy with the performance of the NASCAR games
-- even though I review them as the overall disappointments they have
been, people still buy them.  What can you say? Slap a NASCAR sticker
on something and you can move it off the shelf...

I didn't think you could disable the announcers without also turning off
the spotter. Could you?

<snipped review of game>

I am a hur nascar fan, and I will not be buying this game based on some
of these reviews here.  EA has always done a***poor job on
playstation with their nascar games, so i guess the pc should be no
different.  I have been into knocked into the infield at 'dega, pissed
around for 15 seconds before getting going again, and then caught and
passed the entire field in no time at all, which is of couse IMPOSSIBLE.
BOttom line EA couldn't make a racing sim save their lives.  Thay must
have paid Dale Earnhardt a fortune for all the great reviews he's been
giving this game.

I don't know if this is any better in the release version, but the #1
thing that bugs me in the Demo is the detached feeling you get from the
steering.

Reminds me of those house-sized Chryslers of the 60's.  You could turn
the steering wheel with the tip of a feather.
