Nascar Revolution - A detailed review

First a bit of background. I'm a 'gamer'. I play all types of
games, and even have <and enjoy> NFS 3. I'm also a Sim Racer.
I purchased Nascar Revolution on Wednesday. Here's my
review of it:

Graphics are stunning. The tracks are detailed and the cars look
super. There is no shortage of eye candy.

Sounds are also very good. Although the commentary, in my opinion is
a total waste of time. The 'spotter' shouts out car high/low etc about
20 seconds after the fact. So if you pass someone a little later your
spotter will yell car low.

Arcade Gameplay: Arcade is fun, but what one would expect. Totally
unrealistic and geared for kids. My 6 year old digs it.

Simulation Gameplay: Terrible. AI are morons, The game puts you in
auto-pilot when you enter the pits or when the yellow comes out, which
is ALL the time. Also, when you go into 'auto-pilot' under yellow the
car usually crashes into the rear of the car ahead, a la most TEN
racer. The physics model needs some work.

The game also has a few bugs. It occasionally crashes, and full fields
on my P2-400 with Voodoo2 is like a slide show.

Bottom line, fun arcade game, but if you're a Sim Racer you'll be
disappointed.

The game does leave a lot for EA to build on. So come on and
get Nascar Revolution 200 right EA!

Sure haven't.. Ive tried real hard by doing hard rights and lefts in
traffic.

I'm probably going to return mine as well.

Have you been able to turn auto-shift off?

I can shift for ~20 secs after I crash. Then it resumes
auto shifting.

Auto shift is taken off in the car setup view
under gear ratios
