>>> My best NCR2 Talladega qualifying lap time is 49.397
>> I've managed a 49.119
>My Best Taladega Speed for a single lap so far is 195.106
Ed. Note: 195.106mph is 49.081 seconds.
I've run a 48.858 which is 195.997mph. I stay in the
middle of the corner and exit early, trying to get the steering
wheel straight as soon as possible. When you come down off of
that banking it really throws you to the outside so you have to
be ready for it. There's gotta be somebody faster than me out
there. Let the one-upmanship begin! BTW, no fair jacking the
weather to unrealistic values: 70 degrees and no wind equals
a level playing field.
I was kind of disappointed that they didn't change the
RPM that an engine turns at Talladega. The restrictor plate
engines can't breathe at 9000 RPM, so they make their best
horsepower at about 7500. The simulation doesn't take that
into account so the best way to make the car go is still to
wind up the engine and that's not realistic. Maybe it was
too hard to change this for just one track.
