The green eyed monster has been put to pasture. ;(
Cheers,
Rod.
Me no like him....scored against us, IIRC....
btw, did you know I'm getting married in October? And not to Janka? :-)
The last 2 companies that I'm aware of with CART rights were Papy
(1999-ish? I remember a press release sometime around then) and
Midway, who did stuff like Flag-To-Flag and CART Fury and probably
aren't willing to take a loss on another CART arcade racer.

The Brands INDY circuit is a perfect Super Touring track. Fast and
short with lots of room for bumping. But the Champcars need the open
spaces. :) I am somewhat worried tho, cuz I've heard they are getting rid
of the Dingle Dell turn...That is one of TV's greatest shots...(besides the
curb camera at the top of KNOCKHILL!!)

Agreed about the TV audience. The numbers are quite low. I posted a
week or so ago, something I read in a Sports magazine, that in the USA all
of the openwheel broadcasts to date for 2003, F1, CART, and irl combined,
didn't equal the ratings Nascar got for their Saturday night Richmond race.
However, there are tons of live audiences. 600,000 paying
Canadiens,(Toronto & Vancouver 3 day ticket totals) Similar numbers in
Mexico for those two races. Big numbers at Long Beach, Portland. Road
America was down last year, Mid Ohio was about Average. I'm curious to see
how the Saturday Milwaukee crowd will be since Ovals are Cart's weakest
ticket seller. Will Cleveland Rock under the lights? Will Mario
Andretti's name bring back the Road America fans?
CART events at Long Beach and Portland Oregon(pronounced Ore uh gone)
<not Or re GUN> were the single biggest fan attendance events for those
states...(just like that race in Indianaopolis is)
World Wide F1 buries even Nascar, but here in the states, the fender
crowd is king.

(PS. Here in Europe, CART sadly gets virtually no tv coverage at all, so
I doubt it'd be a succes outside the States)

I have always remained loyal to GPL and also the NASCAR series of releases.
Both products have been fixtures on my series of PC's.
But because I don't race on-line I sort of drifted away from RAS because I
found that a lot of the subject matter was (is) multiplayer-orientated.
But now that the classic GPL tracks such as Spa, Nurburgring and Rouen (and
hopefully some of the add-ons in the mould of Rheims, Bathurst et al) can be
enjoyed within the excellent of N2003, I am looking forward to more
entertainment from GPL.
Who would have dreamed, back in 1998, that a computer sim such as GPL could
have such a long and honorable life?
I certainly didn't.
