F1 2000 separate axis?

by Greger Hut » Sun, 28 May 2000 04:00:00

Is it possible to get separate axis pedals working in F1 2000? I can
assign the controls fine but when I go driving I don't have any
response at all from the brake pedal. Throttle doesn't work properly
either. If I floor the throttle pedal nothing happens but when I
"pump" it I can get some response. Combined axis works flawlessly.

I remember having *exactly* the same problem with separate axis in
Sports Car GT.

Oh, I use a TM F1 (Nascar Pro) wheel.

F1 2000 separate axis?

Same problem - same wheel

It is as if there is insufficient range for F1 2000 to recognise the control
when I attempt to assign it.

Works ok with combined though a lot of movement is required to assign a
control - like pressing brake then releasing it & pressing throttle for it
to accept the throttle pedal as a control.

Any others?

Tony

It's weird because the same problem exists in SCGT yet some people
don't have any problems with separate axis in these games. And in GPL
I've never had a problem with this.

F1 2000 separate axis?

I had this same problem with seperate axis with my NASCAR Pro  in F1-2000.
The brake pedal would be recognized for a while (as Joy 1 RZ+ axis while
throttle was Joy 2 y- axis)  then next time I loaded F1-2000 the brake would
not be recognized. Finally fixed it by using DXTweak to increase the
deadzone of the RZ+ axis slightly. I guess there was some jitter in the pot
that was affecting the calibration somewhere during the loading sequence.
Haven't had a problem with it since.

Thanks David and everyone who mailed me. I got the brake working by
reducing the 'min value' of RZ+ axis by two. The throttle was a bit
trickier to get working. I noticed that it was assigned as Y+ in F1
2000 and I had to do some tweaking to get it assigned as Y-. After
this it worked nicely.
