VROC - No Races?

by Bertram Hoenigman » Thu, 12 Aug 1999 04:00:00

I know that I've been away for the past 3 weeks, since shortly after
release of the GPL 1.1 patch, so maybe there's something I'm not aware
of.

Why aren't there any VROC races being run?  Last night and tonight, the
racelists have been empty.

I installed the 1.1 patch and VROC 2.  Does that have something to do
with it?

For some reason, the list doesn't show immediately.  You have to click on the
MOTD icon...then refresh.

Assuming you're using GPL Spy Boy 2 and the GSB patch, then it should
work - but I have found that occasionally I get no races and have to
quit GSB, disconnect and reconnect and then restart it to get them to
come up.

This doesn't happen very often though - mostly it works fine, although
the races don't always show immediately.

Dialing in at 7:30 am CST in the US, I see 5 races on the VROC 2.0 site and
5 listed through SpyBoy 2(beta) as well.

VROC - No Races?

After clicking on MOTD and waiting for it to automatically refresh a number of
times, I still don't get any races in the race list.  Note, I'm not using
SpyBoy.  I'm accessing VROC thru Netscape 4.5.  ...And I do have it set to show
all races.

Is there a way to do a manual refresh?

Does anyone have any other thoughts?

Thanks.

VROC - No Races?

I'm having the same problem.  I just though it was because my connection was so bad
as to make me ineligable to join any races.  No?

In Netscape 4.5 after pressing the MODT-Button,  the refresh-Button
disapperas and there is a java-error-mesage.
Switched to MSIE (sorry ...) and no problems any more.

I had that happen on one of my systems at work(about a month ago - unrelated to
the MOTD).  I ended up doing a fresh install of both GPL and Netscape.

Did you try to re-install Netscape?  I'm running it(NS 4.51) with no problems.
