In the latest PC Gamer Mag, they have the demo of burnout and have a review
of it aswell. They stat that it is a true Drag racing Sim and give hit a 88%
overall score. They said the highs were Efficient interface, sharp graphics,
good sound effects, witht he lows only being Needs more classic cars and
Mplayer support not up when it shipped, with the bottom line being If you're
a speed freak that doesn't mind getting your kicks a few seconds at atime,
look no further than Burnout. This review was done on the release version and
not will the upcoming patch, wonder what the review would be then. You can
take this review two ways either as that the PC Gamer reviewers have no clue
of what they are talking about or that burnout is a truily fun Drag sim.I'd
like to believe the second myself since these same guys gave Nascar2 96%
when it was released and we all remember how buggy it was at first.Burnout
also received  the  PC GAMER EDITORS' CHOICE AWARD.

Subject:    Burnout Version 1.20X

As a playtester for Bethesda Burnout game if I was to judge the orginal game I
would
give it a C++ for  realism.   But the new patch is so massive with over 50
improvements
I would gladly pay another $39.95 for the patched version.  I can now
Grade the new version at A.   Thats just how different and improved the new
one is!

Excuse me for butting in. But would you pay the extra $40 before,
or after a couple of beers? Unbelieveable.

Danny, those of us that participated in the testing have been putting in
inordinate amounts of time trying to get the realism factor right. Bethesda
for
their part has listened to what we and other users have asked for. There is
still
more to come. I have participated in many beta test sessions for numerous
software companies in the past and I have to give Bethesda A+ for their
response.
There are limitations within any game as to what can be done but this
piece of software is getting very close to being a true simiulator. I also
have no
doubt that in the future they will have the definitive drag race
similulator!

I was kind of being facetious...  I'm still working on getting my setups
correct.  It's kinda fun trying out a lot of things I don't understand,
but sometimes it gets frustrating....

When are they going to fix the interface? For example, choosing a car is just
that, you HAVE to choose the car in order to see it's specs, i.e. weight, cd,
f/r balance, etc. Otherwise the car menu blocks all the stuff.

How about letting us highlite numbers with the mouse? Hitting backspace 100
times just to tweak one valve size gets pretty tiring. Scroll arrows, maybe?

On another note, who made that awful late-model Mustang 3d model? bleah..
Still enjoying the game, nonetheless..
