with my Logitech wheel. My question involves calibrating the pedals in
GPL. The pedals calibrate fine under Windows, but in GPL they don't
show up as one of the four axes in the calibration screen. However,
when I assign controls, the accelerator shows up as Axis #6 and the
brake as Axis #7. They work fine in the game, despite not showing up in
the calibration screen.
Is this normal?
I have the Logitech at ID #1 and the pedals at ID #2 in the game
controllers dialog (Windows 98), the slider set to "Cars" on the
wheels. The pedals are connected to a CH JoySwitch box (which then
connects to my Turtle Beach Montego I soundcard's gameport. I have a CH
Flightstick Pro attached to the pedals. I uninstalled and disconnected
all the other controllers that were connected to the SwitchBox (my old
T1 wheel and a Sidewinder gamepad). I have the game controller driver
set to the Turtle Beach in the Game Controllers application. I also set
the Logitech GPL Profile to combined axes for its pedals (this saved one
axis - instead of using #3 and #4, it now uses #2).
Interestingly, moving the joystick doesn't move any of the calibration
axes either (I assume it is axis #5). So what the hell is on axes #3
and #4?
In summary -
Axis 1 = Logitech wheel
Axis 2 = Logitech pedals (combined since not used)
Axis 3 - ?
Axis 4 - ?
Axis 5 - CH Flightstick Pro joystick (I assume)
Axis 6 - CH Pedal accelerator
Axis 7 - CH Pedal brake
