VR really looks like a classy racing simulator to have... It seems like an
even more realistic "Gran Turismo". Screenshots look sweet but I really like
the realistic physics they incorporated. GT and Need4Speed had incorrect
physics for the Viper that I really didn't liked....

Im gonna pick this title for sure...

GPL, Nascar99, ViperRacing, StarWars: BTM Encyclopedia... My weekends are
full until next year ;-)

Is this the same demo thats available at Gamespot? (Which BTW I am currently
downloading - Whoopee!) I only ask because it has exclusive splashed
everywhere on the ZDNet site.

I hope this demo lives up to the promises of the game, if so it should
hopefully keep me going for the next couple of weeks till the GPL release!

Depending on where you live :(

The demo is definitely worth getting. After my quick "5 seconds before I go
to bed", I'm still here :). You can do EVERYTHING with this demo! Including
the paintkit (hurray!) and the extensive garage! as for the actual game, I'm
not sure. I have been spending more time crashing than anything else (its
4am, give me a chance!). I did however manage to get the car into about the
size of 3 wheels, so damage to the car seems to be quite extensively done :)
(this was after much pounding, theres a strange "wheelie" button, so you
don't actually have to be able to move the car to damage it - needless to
say I couldn't move :))

Anyways, anybody who doesn't have the demo should go get it now - its only
12.5MB!

Viper Racing Demo

Hi guys! I have dowloaded the Viper racing demo from www.gamespot.com. It's
a relatively small file (12.5 megs). I enjoy the demo. Physic model is
great, graphics are amazing amd the sound, well, I like the low grunt of the
engine... The game ran fast at 800x600 with all the options maxed out (37.4
fps, which is very acceptable). I dunno if you can call this a sim, but it
sure looks and feels like one! During an accident, a car flipped in front of
me, hit me anf knocked the tow off. Using the F2 fonction, you get the view
of the front tires and suspension and I could actually see the bent
suspension! This game is going to be a great one and you can see why: Rich
Garcia, one of Papyrus' founders, is the designer being the game. The only
limitation to the total enjoyment: the final game only has 8 different
tracks. Come on, we want more! Give us a track editor! Sure beats the last
Monaco F1RS 2 demo I downloaded.

Yep it will run under both 95 and 98  and will run under both DX5 and
DX6....DX6 is a fair bit fast though, expecially on slower machines.
