alot easier than writing em all out
Anyone out there been messing around with setups for their Viper
in Simulation mode? I found the default setup to be totally useless -
i am almost convinced they used a random number generater to create
the demo setup :) the car is simply EVIL, i say! :)
However, since i could change the setup, i did - and after a few hours
of messing around i've come up with a nice little setup that is
really quite forgiving and allows me to throw the car into corners,
power out of corners, etc, all on the edge of traction - it's balanced
so i can get oversteer or understeer merely by varying the throttle,
it 4 wheel drifts real nicely. my best lap with it is now a 1:01.63,
with a best race time (no AI) of 2:08.91.
Not sure if the setup is the fastest possible - since we don't have
the option of racing the fastest AI i can't compare - this setup
however is nicely stable, and whips the Beginner AI quite soundly :)
Since this now makes the Viper a hell of a lot more fun to drive than
before i figured i'd give the setup to anyone who is even remotely
interested (everyone's proabbly busy playing GPL however) so hopefully
i can help make the demo give a better impression to those who think
it's a little on the uncontrollable side.
here's my setup:
Bump 53 20
Rebound 80 30
Springs 85 50
Antiroll 65 85
Toe In 0.0 0.3
Camber -2.0 -0.3
Ride Height 5.4" 5.9"
Brake Bias 80 20
Wheel Lock 16
Spoilers 40 30
Final Drive default
Gears default
This suits my current driving style, I think. Please feel free to
modify it to suit yours - i figure it's a better starting setup than
the deliberately *** default setup for people to build on!
If anyone finds this useful, then I'll be happy:) I'd also be interested
in seeing what setups other people come up with too.
Now, I am just wondering when the full version is going to be
released...
