--------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, many times I've wished I had never purchased GPL !! It's superior physics model has jaded me and reduced the pleasure I get from my N2 online racing ;-( But, my desire to "race," dice for position, and have the effort of setup and practice rewarded by results in the season points is all but totally frustrated in GPL ;-( Competition, and the mental rush and effort that comes with it, is not really possible in GPL online. I've lost the innocence and luster of my first "true love" and replaced it only with a ***y, moody, and unwilling ***, one that constantly hints and teases, promising great pleasures, forbidden delights and fun, but never really delivers Improve connections. How? I don't have a clue. ( Actually, I do, but my efforts were met with very little co-operation, so I abandoned them.) As long as GPL is a race of ISP against ISP, router vs router, rather than driver vs driver, I'm not interested Do we want to "just continue as is" and pray for relief in the form of a "patch?" I am exploring OTHER sims for their ONLINE racing potential ... including MGPRS2 and scgt. Neither one is going to "sim" as well as GPL but both may "play" much better. If you would like to participate in this reseach, give me a private holler. I will abandon GPL if I find better online gameplay, on roadcourses. P.S. my intent here isn't to *** and stir up trouble, rather to improve the experience .....clearly some GPLers feel that "just driving" is enough ... that's fine by me, but not fine for me ... I DO believe that drivers with good connections used to and matched speeds could enjoy great racing in GPL ... but probably only a few at a time. And YES, not in a side by side oval track sense, rather in a realistic roadcourse way .... few passes, but always ready and able to pounce ! It NOT the fact I can't pass that gets me down ( that would improve me) but the fact that it's not a real possibility. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, Im sure the "Blue Eyes" have already noticed your post, ZZ. Do you see any reply? This vaunted patch rumor has now reached the point, where many don't care anymore and will gravite to other online sims............a fact. The good racers who defend and support GPL deseve an answer to the "patch" question, not totaly being ignored and you know they are reading the post here. We deserve an answer, but it would really suprise me if you hear anything at all. C
