GPL Thriller 3D lockup

GPL Thriller 3D lockup

I am running a 266Mhz AMD-K6 with 64MB Ram and a Hercules Thriller and a
Monster 3D Voodoo 2 board.  GPL in 3Dfx has the texture blackouts, but
looks beautiful in Rendition mode.  The only problem is that it locks up
in Rendition mode.  Initially it seemed that it was only brought on by
replays, but now I can't even get very far out of the pits without it
locking up.  I haven't seen this discussed on this news group.

BTW I have flashed the Thriller Bios to the latest upgrade (141) and
loaded the newest Rendition drivers.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  My 15yr old son wanted
this the most of any computer game and thinks the old cars are really
neat, but it extremely frustrated that it will only run either in pretty
bad 3DFX or completely unacceptable software rendering.

Thanks,

Kim

Well I apologize because I don't have any answers for you, but rest assured
that there is no incompatability problem between gpl and the thriller. GPL,
as all papy sims are, was written for the rendition chip in the thriller.
Additionally many people have been running gpl and thriller combo's for
months with a variety of drivers etc. I would look elsewhere for the source
of your problem. E:mail all companies tech depts and keep posting, someone
will solve it for you. Try a post at the Apex, it's the longest running gpl
forum.
