Great news - there is a small .dll file which provides a 3dfx option in Cart
Precision Racing. Get the file triglide.dll from op3dfx: (around 50k)

Download from ftp.op3dfx.com/pub/game-patches/cart/triglide.com

It improves things a lot for 3dfx card owners.
