W98 question

I'm looking at some possible computers to buy, which still has the option of
windows 95, while 98 is standard.

It's a 400 PII , Diamond monster II (Voodo 2) 12 MB \ Real 3D Starfighter
AGP. 64 RAM 32x CD and 6.4 GB HD

will a lot of the problems I hear about people upgrading to W98 (games
suddenly not working) apply to a computer not upgraded from 95 but with 98
in from the start.

thanks

That's a nice PC: almost just like mine. I too wasn't sure about installing
Win98 at first. I choose too because it will support future "technologies".
For starters, the GPL demo didn't work. Appenrently, there's now a way to
fix that. Also, I had some problems running Nascar2 initially. I'm not sure
that this has to do with Win98, though. Nascar2 worked perfectly on my old
Win95 equiped P166, so I'm not sure that the problems lies with Win98. Every
other games work  perfectly.
I have a PII 400, a Stealth II G460 (i740 chip), Sound Blaster PCI 128,  128
meg Ram, Monster 3D II (12 meg of RAM), 24X CD, 8.4 Gig HD.

do you know of any problems running gp2 with win98?  The reason I ask, I
have just ordered a new p2 400, and it has win98 standard.  I think I can
get n2 and f1rs, and icr2 to work, but I haven't heard one way or another
with gp2.
