GPL in W2K - This is not a valid CD?

by chunk » Mon, 15 Jul 2002 20:00:13

I bought GPL when it was released and played it for a while but sadly
discovered I didn't have the time for games any more.  Today I attempted to
install it again only to be greeted with the message "This is not a valid
CD. Please contact your vendor" after choosing the install directory.  WTF?
The cd is an original and I've had a wee hunt around the web to see if this
is a common problem but can only find one Danish site that seems to document
it and guess what, my Danish sucks.

My system is running Windows 2000 SP2 but although I cannot find much
supporting documentation to say that  GPL runs under W2K with no problems
(papy.com is particularily useless) I do see that many have reported success
with this OS.

Any help appreciated.
