ICR2 and Rendition...

I've got an old old version of ICR2 (though it does have DOS and Win95
on the same CD, along with Mac).  It seems to me that at one time there was
a patch (or series of patches) that would convert the regular DOS version of
ICR2 to the Rendition version.  Is this correct?  If so, how would I go
about it?

Well duh...  ;-)  I went out of my way to find a Verite-based
card...it's not easy these days to find old hardware like that, especially
since Hercules went under.  And of course, it's a second generation card...

Yes, I've got the carset that you're talking about.  It's quite nice.
Unforunately, I don't know who Eagle Woman is, or anything of her web site.
Can you point me the way?

First we have to ask....is your video card based on the Rendition
chipset?  if not...fuhgedabbouddit.
I beleive Eagle Woman (Alison) has a section at her website that has
the files you "may" need if you have a 2nd gen rendition card. V2100 or
V2200.  There are several hoops you have to jump through.  If you DO get
it running, go to the Sim Project and dload their CART99 carset.  This
is an amazing car set that allows painting on most of the car's
surfaces.  The AAR Eagles alone are worth it since the full yellow
eagles head can now be painted.

ok to you and any sim driver.  If you don't know who Eagle Woman
is...don't feel bad, but you should.  She is becomming very influential
in the sim testing and product development world.  here's her main page,
you should be able to surf around some from there.

ICR2 and Rendition...

One thing you might consider is to go to Wal-Mart and buy the CART
Racing cd.  Last time I saw it it was just $9.95--just the cd in the
"discount" software section.  It has the Rendition version on it.  There
are still some hoops to jump through to make it work with a Verite 2000
series card--but once done it works very nicely.  I bought CART when I
first got my Stealth II S220--even though I had ICR2 because the patches
on the web to make the original ICR2 rendition ready wouldn't work for
me.
