I am going to get a 3d card, or 3d accerlatrator, which ever, what is
the best card out there, for 200 or less, and just for kicks what is the
best card out there, I want to be able to play CPR good, and I figure a
good 3d card will help me, so what is the best out there for under 200,
thanks!!!

I believe the hottest thing right now, at least until the voodoo 2 cards
come out, is the Canopus Pure3d 3dfx pass through card.
Check it out at http:\\www.canopuscorp.com

Try out Diamond's Multimedia site--http://www.diamondmm.com.  I would
suggest you to look for 3D accelerator with 3Dfx chipset such as Monster 3D,
Voodoo Rush, and Righteous 3D.  CPR uses Direct 3D.  All 3Dfx not only
supports Direct 3D, it can run Quake II, which uses OpenGl and Glide.
Depending where you buy, 3D cards like Monster 3D can cost you about $179.

Quake II only uses OpenGL, not Glide.

But like Glide, OpenGL only runs on Voodoo.

OpenGL will run on any OpenGL capable card. PowerVR will run it, Riva will
run it. Read up on it at www.planetquake.com/gldojo. OpenGL is like D3D,
anyone can use it. Voodoo just happened to be the first consumer level card
that had a driver available to run OpenGL, and it runs it best. OpenGL is
also for 3D modeling apps, not just games, like Glide.

Bzzzt... thanks for playing.  We have some lovely parting gifts for you.
NVidia, Rendition, PowerVR (among others) also have OpenGL mini-drivers
just like 3Dfx.

True enough but only extremly recently were any of the others worth a
shit and even then only rendition is truly worth a shit...Matter of
fact its really only the last month or so that the others got sorted
out Riva is not quite there yet, nor is Power Vr quite there yet
either. Rendition has been playing Quake1 thru a dedicated port...also
only rendition has comparable picture quality. So indeed the game was
fun and I enjoyed playing.

I would definitely recommend the Canopus Pure 3D.  It totally rocks with the
Voodoo chipset and 6 MB memory and all of that for $179.00!  It is available
at: www.pure3d.com.  Check it out, I think you will be impressed along with the
magazines and the majority of the people in this newsgroup.  Good Luck!  Jeff
