I'm trying to join VROC races from behind a firewall.
My machine has a local IP address (192.168.0.13) (reasonably fixed)
and uses Microsoft Proxy Client to do the routing to a Internet Server
(which is multihomed; 192.168.0.1 and it has a fixed IP address for
its Internet connection to the ISP).
I have tried to join a VROC race, but here's what happens:
- My IP address isn't picked up by VROC's Java applet (says
www.ibm.com, probably a stub); I overrule this IP address (have tried
both my server's IP address and my own IP address)
- I can see races, I can see 'Join', and when I join I can see the
people in my address book, but when I click the green button I get
network errors (10057/10047).
I've searched the net, the Online FAQ's and such, but I read that for
example, Alison Hine never did any connecting from behind a firewall.
Anyone has any pointers or suggestions how to make it work?
The errors are shows as:
#define WSAEAFNOSUPPORT (WSABASEERR+47)
#define WSAENOTCONN (WSABASEERR+57)
In my winsock.h file (cut the WSA for Unix errors).
