Jens Kruuse has developed GPLProxy, a utility that allows GPL races to be
watched over the internet.  You can read all about it on our new site,
Racesim Central, at:

Phil Lee,

I've been advocating this idea to Papy since forever.  I'm glad Jens is
finally doing it.  It would help grow the community by allowing
non-participants to "tune in" to championship races.  Wouldn't it be great
to see Dave Kaemmer, say, and Greger Huttu go wheel to wheel for gold, guts
and/or glory?

Dan,

I meant for the marquee value, not their respective skills.  If Pat Buchanan
met Jesse Ventura in the ring, we know who'd win (wouldn't we?), but we'd
all tune in anyway...or at least *I* would!

Oh you are SO lucky not to know who Pat Buchanan is. Those of us in North
America know and are *scared*.

Jesse Ventura used to be a WWF wrestler and also has tried his hand at
acting. Have you seen "Predator"? He's the big guy with the cleft chin and
the huge machine gun. His acting shows his wrestling background. He then
became Governor of Minnesota, showing the world how democracy sometimes
tends to reward style over substance.

People fear what they don't understand, and I suspect this is the case with
you.  One may disagree with Buchanan, but to extend that into some sort of
fear is nuts.

If you disagree with how the man thinks and what he stands for, then you don't
want him in office.  If there's a chance that he might get there, then being
afraid of the consequences is a perfectly logical reaction.  I'd say the same
thing about ANY religious figure running for office.  I *understand* them, but
I can't *stand* them, and I sure don't want them governing ME.

I read Mr. Buchanan's column occasionally. I usually disagree with him
wholeheartedly (being a commie in his opinion - a staunch conservative in my own
country) but it does give me some insight into the mindset of those who think
differently. Exposure to different ideas is frequently beneficial.

I don't want him governing YOU because his type would look North of the
border and want to start governing ME too :(

To a certain extent, yes.  But if you're not going to change his mind, and he's
not going to change yours, why waste your time?
Having said that, I *did* bookmark the site...<g>
