I can't seem to get the N4 patch installed properly. After running the
patch, my desktop shortcut can't locate the executable to run
(Nascar4.exe), and browsing thru the c:\Papyrus\Nascar Racing 4
directory doesn't locate it either.

Using the CD's Autorun function only gives me a prompt about whether I
want to Install Nascar 4, but no button to run it.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, then immediately patching,
but I still get the same results. Can anyone shed some light on what
might be wrong?

Check out Eric Busch's post; about 8 posts up. It _might_ be the cause
of your problem.

I have kinda the same problem. I ran the patch, and when I tried to start n4
it keeps
saying insert the n4 disk in the cdrom. Well it was in the cdrom and it
still didn't work.
So I reinstalled n4 and the same thing again. So I just reinstalled again
and am running
the game without the patch. Just my luck, it does not work on my puter.

If your original N4 install worked fine, the patched version should work
fine.
If you haven't tried this - uninstall N4. It will leave your player file and
car files in the Papy directory, along with the replay and export
directory - you won't lose your setups or custom cars, but to be sure
probably would't be a bad idea to copy your player folder and your series
folder to somewhere else on your hard drive. Defrag your hard drive
afterwards just to clean things up a little. Re-install N4 to the SAME
directory, then install the patch to the new clean install of N4.
