Little RBR framerate problem

by ymenar » Sun, 10 Oct 2004 16:05:19

It doesn't really affect the gameplay, but it's kinda annoying.  I get
about 45-60fps when I'm driving the car, either in bonnet or in-car view.
That's with a 9800 Pro.  But anytime I try to get an outside view, from
either the kite view behind the car, or especially during the replay, I go
back to about 15fps and it really suffers, going into the low 0's and so,
skipping lots of frames.

Anybody knows, or have had the same results?

I tried to put all the graphics off in the startup, it didn't change
anything.  Either any other resolution, or 16-bit.  Or Tripple-buffering.
It's still really jerky.

It all seems to be related to the car graphics ,or model.  Seems like
whenever it's on screen, my fps goes bezerk.

Funny that - I get the opposite.

Frame rates are visibly better with bumper camera or behind views. Anything
from inside the car slows doen on my system - P4 3.2GHz/1GB DDR/GF6800 128MB
with 66.81 drivers.

Recently upgraded from GF4 4600Ti to GF6800 (base model, not Ultra or GT)
after finding the same thing. Now I can run 1280x1024 with excellent frame
rates. I prefer the bumper view anyway.

Try messing around/lowering your sound card acceleration.
