More GPL graphics problems

Apologies for this as I am a newbie to the wonderful world of GPL.  I have
applied the fixes (this time in the correct order) and can now get racing on
my PC.  However, the PC still crashes and reboots if I try and change which
team I am racing for.

I have installed the CPU fix, direct 3D fix and the patch and have tried 10+
laps without it crashing.  But as soon as I try to choose a different team
it bombs out.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

M.

I don't have a definite answer I'm afraid. But I've been having freezes
while in the player info screen ever since I changed to 29.80 and
installed the Nvidia stereo drivers drivers for my Geforce2.

Maybe there's a link...what are your system specs?

My gfx card is a GF4 and I tried it with the out of the box drivers and also
the latest detonator I could find which was 29.42.

Is it possible that you have a bad addon that may be causing the crash? Have
done any custom menus or that kind of thing? Might want to try removing any
addons and seeing if you have the proooooblems then.

It happened to me on several occasions
1) when I was trying to run a car that I applied patches to that
didn't seem to work ( I have it with a Rob Walker Lotus patch that I
plucked from the net), I just got rid of the car..

2) When I tried to run a different resolution on the  ATI RageIIc -
Voodoo2 3D computer of my girlfriend that I occasionally use for
multiplayer games. (The PC that is..)  It didn't occur when I ran the
standard 800x600 and was solved eventually by installing a spare Riva
TNT2 using the D3Dpatch

Oh yeah, it sometimes occurs when you apply a trackfix or patch that
the computer is not too keen about...

greetings,
the alverman
