MS FF Wheel Configuration in N2003

Hi all,
I recently upgraded to a new XP system. Under my old system when driving at
a plate track, for example, I could keep the throttle matted while
simultaneously braking in order to slow down while keeping the RPM's up (
just as in real life)
Under my new XP system it's pretty much one or the other, if I brake while
still in the throttle the brake overrides and cuts the throttle...
Is there some way that it can be configured to "see" both inputs
simultaneously?
Thanks,
Timmy

You have to set up the controller as dual-axis. Probably in the control
panel under game controllers.

> In your MS Sidewinder Profile Editor under Settings you have Pedals

Options of Combine As Y and Separate.  If you check the "Separate" box your
pedals should operate independently on separate axis.  At least, that's the
way mine work with Win 98SE.  Don't know if it works that way with XP but
try it and see.

You need to fix your profile.  You have it set to "Combined" instead of
"Separate" Axis.

You will need to re-cal after changing it.

Windows XP imbedded controller software doesn't have a 'separate' pedals
option. I reloaded the 'Game Controller 4' software that came with the
wheel, against protests from XP, and now it works fine.

And it gets WHQL certification with those protests in place.  Neat, huh :)

Yes, the ability to config the wheel is nearly non-existent without the
SideWinder 4 software.  That's why those with the really old Gameport
versions are screwed.
